Rewind: catch the bug you already missed

Stop writing bug reports.
Start capturing them.

One click captures the screen, console, network and environment, then AI writes the repro and files the ticket.

Everything a developer asks for, before they ask

One click, and BugCatch collects the screen, the console, the network and the environment.

  1. 1Screen and RewindA screenshot, a recording, or the two minutes before it broke.
  2. 2ConsoleErrors, warnings and stack traces, attached without asking.
  3. 3NetworkEvery request with its method, status and timing.
  4. 4EnvironmentBrowser, OS, viewport, build, locale and the signed-in user.
AI triage

AI reads the bug before your team does

A summary, a likely root cause and numbered repro steps, the moment a report lands.

  • Plain-language summaryOne line a PM can read, on every report.
  • Likely root causeTraced to the failing call and the line that threw.
  • Numbered repro stepsDrafted from the session, editable by anyone triaging.
  • Severity and repeatsA suggested severity sorts the queue, and repeats are grouped.

Runs on your own Claude or OpenAI key, on Team and Enterprise.

Automation

Then it acts on what it read

Every switch is off until you turn it on, and nothing on this list overrules a person.

  • Severity applied, never overruled Fills in a missing severity. Never replaces one a person chose.
  • Routed to the right person Ordered rules on severity, tag or URL. The first match wins.
  • Duplicates linked, not buried A repeat links to the original. Both reporters hear about the fix.
  • Targets that escalate Response and resolution targets per severity. A miss escalates the bug.
  • Quiet reports followed up Nudge the reporter after a few days, then settle it.
  • Your tracker can close it Close it in Jira, GitHub or Linear and it settles here too.
  • The reporter hears back A live thread they can answer in. No sign-up, on every plan.
  • Fixes answer the next report Resolved bugs become notes. Auto-answer stays off until you enable it.

FAQ

Questions worth asking first

The long answers live in the docs.

Do reporters need to install anything?

No. Your team uses the Chrome extension. Customers and non-technical staff use the ~4 kB SDK inside your app, so they install nothing.

How does Rewind capture something that already happened?

Once enabled, it keeps a rolling in-memory buffer of the last two minutes and discards anything older. Nothing is uploaded until you press Rewind.

What stops a recording from capturing a password or a card number?

Password fields are masked by default and you can mark elements to blur. The server strips tokens, cookies, auth headers and card patterns before anything is stored.

Can the reporter see what our team says to each other?

Only what you choose to share. Comments are internal by default and shared one at a time, and the reporter is never told who the assignee is.

Will automation change our bugs without us knowing?

Every switch is off until you turn it on. It never overrules a person, and every automatic change is attributed and shows on the timeline.

Can I keep using Jira as the source of truth?

Yes. The issue is created in Jira, GitHub or Linear on arrival, the BugCatch link carries the evidence, and status changes sync back.

Which AI model writes the analysis?

You choose and bring the key: Claude (Anthropic) or ChatGPT (OpenAI), on Team and Enterprise. The model sees the redacted report, and tokens are billed to you at cost.

Does it work on localhost, or on staging behind a login?

Yes. The extension captures whatever the tab shows, so nothing has to be publicly reachable. The SDK works the same way inside your app.

The next bug someone finds should file itself

Install the extension and capture one bug, free forever for solo work with no card and no sales call.

Works in Chrome and Edge. Firefox and Safari support in beta.
